Watercolour
Transparent washes, with a good deal of the paper left in reserve.
Transparent washes on a pale ground, with paper left untouched. The result is lighter than oil and less insistent.
It suits a dog whose coat is already a wash of colour, and collectors who want the portrait to sit quietly on a wall.
